Welcome to the homepage
of the El Valle Asociación de Propietarios walking group.
Introduction
Walks are normally organised for the
second Thursday of the month at 6.00pm and have been well supported and enjoyed
by all. (Currently the walks are starting at 6.00pm during
the summer months but will change to a more suitable time during the day for the
cooler months, starting with the October walk, please consult the newsletter if
in doubt).
So far there have been a mixed ability group of walkers and not all
the same people on each walk, members and some non-members enjoying the walks
and the after walk social get together. We would like to see
more people coming out and enjoying a friendly walk through our beautiful area
followed by a social get together. At the moment we have
several walk organisers but if anyone else would like to lead a walk, please contact
Anne or Stewart. Telephone numbers in the Newsletter.

La
Vinuela |
The first walk in
June was led by Stewart Common and Elaine Edwards and started at the
bottom end of Vinuela village. It skirted up through
the bottom of the village and out towards the lake and back. Twenty-one
people turned up and completed the walk in about two hours, most ending up
in the Bar Venta de Vina in Vinuela for a drink and some of us dined. |

The second walk in
July started from Meson Sara in Puente and was led by Eddie Kemp, eighteen
people came along to this one and we all headed up through Venta Baja
village and up to Venta Alto and back, a slightly harder walk but we all
enjoyed it. We completed the walk in over two hours and
ended up at the bar for drinks and meals (again). |

Lake
Vinuela |
The third walk in
August was led by Peter and Anne Dibden, this started from the Camping Bar
car park and went out around the lake side path/track for quite a while,
we then turned left and up through the roads and houses towards Km 29
eventually turning back down the valley towards the camping site. Sixteen
people completed the walk in about two hours and most of us went to the
Pantano Restaurant afterwards for a meal and of course the obligatory
drink. |

November 2008 |
Velez-Malaga |
Will be a bit different. We
have arranged for a Walking Tour around Historic town of
Velez Malaga, this will be led by the historian Michael. He will lead
and talk about many of the places of historical interest around the town,
this will be supported with handouts giving various pieces of relevant
information of the places visited. This walk will be limited to maximum 20
persons and will cost 10 euros per person and will take 2-3 hours, after
the walk for the people interested we will go to a restaurant for a meal
and chat (cost of the meal etc will be each persons responsibility).
Bookings and money will be taken at the Monday
market or at one of the walks by one of the committee present.
Please don't leave this to the last minute as we are defiantly limited to
a max 20 people, no money, no place. The start will be at 11.00am and the
start location will be notified in the next newsletter.
