Thirty members and non-members set off northwards through the Valle del Sol urbanisation and headed up the tracks leading through the olive groves. 

The tracks took us upwards towards Alcaucin and whilst quite steep on places, we were rewarded with fine views down over Puente Don Manuel and Venta Baja.

Further along the track towards Alcaucin we headed down into the valley and joined the main Alcaucin road for a few hundred metres before heading down towards the river at the bottom of the valley.

We used the very well constructed "weir" to cross the river before heading along its banks towards Chiringuito Antonio's.

From Chiringuito's we walked back to the start point where the majority of us drove down to Venta la Vina at La Viñuela for a menu del dia. 

Verdict? A nice walk in good weather with a  friendly group of  old friends and new. 

Next walk? Will be organised by Terry and Jane Frost and will be on 14th February 2008, starting near to the furniture factory on the Alcaucin road. The  start will be at 11:00am. This will be followed by a menu del dia at a local restaurant.  Why not join us?
