The mayor of La Viñuela has angered the Junta de Andalucía by publishing his municipality’s local development plan before it has been approved. Juan Millán had his text included in the official bulletin of Málaga province.

The Department for Public Works said that once such information appears in the BOP it is considered to be effective and taken as the definitive version. It is also the trigger for the department to be able to award licences for the projects to which the PGOU refers.

However, the provincial delegate of the Junta de Andalucía, José Luis Marcos, denounced Sr Millán’s actions, adding that La Viñuela’s plan had not been approved and was not legal. He said the Junta had made a series of requests to La Viñuela for amendments to their draft but had received no response.
