A couple of messages from Carol Moulton at Viñuela:

Local General Plan rumours:

It has been brought to my attention that there are rumours flying around, that the Local Plan General has been passed and now properties have been legalised.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT TRUE.

At the Council meeting on 27th Sept, one of the items in the agenda was The Approval of the Plan General (PGO), this was to be subject to a vote among the councillors. The PP voted against the approval as we had not been given any time to study it and to see how favourable or unfavourable it was to the residents of new housing here and whether it would help to legalise their properties. We asked for an extension of 5 days in which to look in depth at the proposal and were refused! There is a copy of the plan (map only) in the PP office, if anyone cares to call in on a Monday morning to have a look.

The motion was carried by the 6 PSOE votes and it will be sent to the Junta de Andalucia for THEIR approval. It is still highly likely that they will NOT approve, as they have already rejected the PGO several times already. Until they give their approval nothing is cast in stone.

The PP voted against the motion, not to prolong things, but to try to glean whether it was for the greater good. I queried the matter, that if approval was given, it should cover 95% of the new constructions (PSOE figures), what would the local Town Hall do to help the remaining 5%. I am still waiting for affirmation!

I hope this will quell the rumours and I assure you that I will inform you as soon as things are approved. In fact I think we will have a party!!!

Suspect vehicle & Policing:

I received this message from a client, please be vigilant. There appear to be two young men in a white Renault Megane in the area. It would seem they are checking out property. Keep an eye out for them. They were spotted walking round the back of a house at Mangamasa. The registration number of this vehicle is MA 4502 CS.

I would also be very interested to hear from any of you that have been burgled, the date, time of day etc. Following a discussion with the Mayor, at the Council meeting last Thursday, I raised the point about security and the lack of policing. Although he agreed it was a problem it is a question of finance within the Guardia Civil. I want to prepare some figures to put to him to try and force their hand. If you know of anyone, who has been burgled or an attempt been made, please get them to email me. The stronger the argument, the better the chance.

PS This does not only apply to Vinuela residents, I also want info from Alcaucin etc.

Foreigners Department (Viñuela):

My apologies for not being in the office the past few weeks, due to incapacity. However, I am thinking of closing the office surgery on Mondays, due to poor turnout. Either you have no problems or are getting your info elsewhere. This is not to say that the Foreigners Department is no more. I would rather change it to an appointment basis and meet up at the office, to our mutual convenience. Many matters I am already dealing with, on a daily basis, either by phone or by email. Truly, as this is an unpaid position, I have better things to do than sit for 5 hours with no consults; if the office was busy, I would gladly be there all day. Please give me your feedback on this proposal. I am still here to try to help and advise.

Kindest regards

Carol
